VERBATIM AND COMPLETE

Renee:

Another blow for Natalee Holloway's parents. The Alabama teenager disappeared in Aruba 14 months ago and hasn't been seen since.

On Thursday, a Judge in New York threw out a lawsuit accusing Joran van der Sloot of being responsible for Natalee's disappearance. Beth Twitty, Natalee's mother filed that lawsuit with her husband. Beth, good morning.

Beth:

Good Morning Renee

Renee:

The suit was filed in New York and it was a bit of a long shot was it not?

Beth:

We knew it was a long shot from the beginning Renee, but you know, it's just hard to know what direction and what to do when you have a victim of a crime in a foreign country, I mean it's just ground breaking territory for everyone and you know, we feel as if we have to, you know, have tried these avenues.

Renee:

What were you hoping to accomplish by filing the lawsuit in New York?

Beth:

Oh, we were hoping for discovery, we were hoping for all those statements that have been taken from suspects and witnesses. We needed the complete file and to see if we could figure out, you know what had happened and that's just not going to happen now

Renee:

You said this is like grasping at straws just a bit. What was your reaction when you heard that it had been dismissed?

Beth:

You know, even though we knew it was a long shot, we knew it would be an uphill battle, but you know we had been building for this, gosh since February the 16th you know, emotionally and physically, so of course to find that that's not going to be a direction we can take, I was crushed Renee, of course.

Renee:

Yeah, yeah, are you still convinced that Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers had something to do with Natalee's disappearance or that they know of someone who did have something to do with her disappearance?

Beth:

Oh absolutely, and of course we know that they are the original three (3) suspects into her disappearance. You know the Judge filing the Motion to Dismiss the case heard here was a procedural ruling on jurisdictions so, there again, we face that wall again of jurisdictional issues when you have a victim of a crime in a foreign country.

Renee:

Jurisdictional issues, but it wasn't dismissed on the case's merits, does that give you hope?

Beth:

Well yeah, the facts still stand that these are the suspects into her disappearance but what is just so frustrating is just finding the venue and to have this case heard and I don't really know what we'll regroup and do from here Renee.

Renee:

Aruban authorities have arrested and then released ten (10) people in relation to this case, I mean do you have any legal options there, any legal avenues there? Can you file a suit there?

Beth:

You know, I really don't know at this point what John intends to do and I think that we were just you know, hopefully seeing that this would pan out but I just don't know what's ahead of us Renee.

Renee:

John Tacopina who is your lawyer, that's who you're talking about

Beth:

John Kelly

Renee:

Oh I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Natalee's been missing for fourteen (14) months now, can you just describe to us what the last fourteen (14) months has been like for you. What do you miss most about your daughter?

Beth:

Oh well, you know it's been long, I can't believe we're going into, like you said, fourteenth, fifteenth month now and you know, but I keep thinking about Natalee, and of course I miss every aspect of her but now what I think we're moving into Renee is a larger picture than Natalee and when I say that, I mean and you know, Natalee represents and you know, crimes outside of our border and also she represents the challenges that a family will face should they find themselves victims of a crime in a foreign country

Renee:

Beth Twitty, thank you so much and good luck to you, we appreciate your time.

Beth Twitty moved on to the larger issues months ago

Beth Twitty moved on to the money issues months ago

Beth Twitty moved on to the doctoring of her physical
appearance long ago

Beth Twitty moved on in general, months ago.

Beth Twitty misses every aspect of Natalee Rolling Eyes

And I wonder--
I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder,
Why,
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away,
Yes, and I wonder,
A-where she will stay-ay,
My little runaway,
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway.

omg she said you know so many times I want to scream.

I really think she has some nerve to say Natalees situation is some new uncharted terriroty. It isnt. People go missing, are killed, mugged or victims of crimes in other countries all the time. They have to accept the legal avenues and reprocutions available from those countries. Period. If you dont like the laws of a country then dont go there. Plain and simple if you ask me.
If beth thinks she has enough for any type of legal action she has to go to aruba and ask for it. Natalee went to aruba of her own free will, with beth and jugs signed permission to do so. That is the legal venue for this. The reason she wont, is she knows she has no case there either.

Thanks Heli!

You know what strikes me everytime this biatch opens her mouth? It looks as if she does know damn well where Natalee is, and that is not murdered and/or gangraped..........She doesn`t talk like a parent/mother who`s daughter underwent those ordeals, not at all!

Thanks Heli.

It's not much different in the US either. Families don't get to see all of the police evidence in an ongoing case nor are families able to sue for the sole purpose of discovery.

My heart breaks for Natalee. What an absolutely cold unfeeling person Beth is.
Can you imagine if Natalee is alive and heard her mother say they're moving into a larger picture than NAtalee?
After only 14 months?

lushus thanks.

prolific, I cant imagine living in a house with someone like beth for 18 long years. I mean my god, she cant even name one thing she MISSES about natalee. Last time she was asked she said something about her car being parked in the driveway. I could probably think of other things if my kid was missing. Hell yesterday my kids were fighting and one threw a full trash bag at the other, just that made me laugh and mad all at once. IM SURE there had to have been fighting and banter between Matt and her in the home. She cant even name something like that? I know Id miss it even though they make me mad sometimes, without it, what is life about?

Thanks Heli. What kind of speech therapist says "you know" almost every sentence. Makes me want to scream also.

So this is Beth's new spew - crimes in foreign countries? Guess the Safe Travels will be changing it's name again.

I wonder how much longer Joe T will give Beth a pass.

That jumped out at me too. I mean WHAT is this woman saying? I never saw a supposedly educated woman that talks the crazy ignorant way she does. Well using "aspect" in that manner is a similar error as when she says "Natalee's original perpetrators."

A person cannot be "perpetrated."

A person does not have "aspects."

Some of you guys are on a real personal agenda - which is fine -that's what this place is for. But it is a personal agenda clearly.

Just another note: people express their grief in totally individual ways. Because one woman expresses emotion "hysterically" and another expresses it "coldly" doesn't mean that one is more sincere than the other.

What BT said made total sense to me. She is stumped. She tried something hoping it would work and it didn't.

Saying that "it isn't about Natalee" to me meant that like John Walsh - it wasn't about Adam after a while, it became about the larger issue of predators.

Sometimes I think there's more than a little mysogyny on these boards - certainly on this thread:

Other forms of misogyny may be more subtle (than outright hatred). Some misogynists may simply be prejudiced against all women, or may hate women who don't fall into one or more acceptable categories.

Beth is unacceptable to some of you. I don't know why, ultimately, she should have to be.

Rolling Eyes

Maybe it's just me, but for the REST OF MY LIFE it would be about Natalee, my DAUGHTER. But Beth has moved right along, hasn't she?

Funny how she couldn't say ONE damn thing she missed about her DAUGHTER.

But I supposed that's my "personal agenda" talking.

There was nothing at all wrong with that statement. She misses her daughter, who wouldnt? It's been 14 months, she doesnt know where else to turn, she's frustrated, she's at a loss, she's disappointed things didnt go her way in the lawsuit even though she knew it was a longshot, she's in the dark and wants more pieces to the puzzle because no one cares more about putting those pieces together than she does.

Ok, now let's have the eyerolls and so forth. It's my opinioin.

Nothing wrong with the statement? The woman CANNOT TALK! She can hardly put together a freakin SENTENCE! Duh! How many "you know's" was there???

What are some of Natalee's "aspects"??????

You got the feeling from that statement that Beth misses her daughter? That went way over my head.

To me it means that they never bonded. A normal mother would have no problem recalling things they did together regularly, and wouldn't have to issue such a cold blanket statement.
