Some dude wore a wife beater and blue jeans to Graduation.
Hi all. My little sister's High School Graduation was on Sunday. Some guy showed up wearing a wife beater (Is that politically correct?) and blue jeans. That was not the only problem. Babies were practically crying the whole time, people were up walking around throughout the whole thing, and people left before it was done. This is not to mention the girl that was sitting on her boyfriend's shoulder trying to get a picture when the graduates were filing in. It would not have been a problem, except she did not have on the proper garmets to be doing that.

Did you get a pic of the girl missing the "proper garments" by any chance?

Sounds like a typical graduation ceremony. Congrats to your sister.

Jonathan,
#1, "wife beater" is okay. My son taught me that phrase. He has a few. LOL.
#2, please learn to put O/T in your thread title.
#3, Congrats to your sister, AND you...you must be very proud. I've heard your talk about your love of your sister and her accomplishments before...this is a big milestone for you and your family!
#4, My son graduated in 2003..the place was jam-packed, I really didn't notice what people wore, but I'm sure I saw a few that were pretty poorly outfitted. Babies crying? I don't remember....maybe your sister graduated from a small school? Honestly at my son's grad. ceremony it was so huge (and we don't really live in a BIG town), I was pretty unconcerned with anything extraneous.....I was just concentrating on my son's "big night".
#5, just a "hiya" to you Jonathan, my good bud.

Times have certainly changed. When I graduated from High School in 1976 females wore dresses and men wore suits.
I attended my son's college graduation about 3 weeks ago and the dress seemed to be very casual. I wore slacks and a shirt and my husband wore khaki's with a golf shirt. I didn't see many men in suits or women in dresses. When I think back, most of the younger college age girls in the stands had on dresses, but they weren't dressy dresses.
I don't remember anybody standing out as being overly under-dressed or over-dressed. I think that some guy wearing a "wife beater" to a graduation of any sort is pretty rude. Jeans, I don't have a problem with. It's like at work. Somebody is going to take the meaning of casual attire to an extreme.

It's the ribbed undershirts men wear that look like a woman's tank top.

Thanks GeorgiaMom and FocusFactor! Ugh! Very attractive! LOL! No wonder the poor poster who opened this thread was shocked someone turned up in a "wife beater" at that graduation ceremony. So gross! I can hardly imagine the sight of it! Blech!

I was at a cell phone store last week and a young man had a cap on that said "FUCK ME, I'M WHITE TRASH". I wanted to smack him in the head. The owner asked him to remove it and he rudely did, but went outside right after that.
Some weird stuff out there that people think is "just fine".
No class low class crass ass. Hmmm, wonder if that would sell on a hat...

Hi SavannahStar. I apologize. I did not think that it would upset any of you.

Hi JesseLee. It is a white t-shirt without sleeves. I actually think they are uncomfortable.

They would not have been admitted to a graduation here if they dressed like that. School dress code prohibits sleeveless garments by worn by either gender, and everyone must follow school dress code at all school functions, to include field trips, assemblies, and graduation.
