When I was a child we had a border collie that suffered from epilepsy, as I have read other pet owners have discussed on this thread. It was many years ago, but I do remember that he was young when it was first diagnosed...he too suffered seizures....but he was treated with pills, barbituates I presume..maybe doggie phenobarbytal...but he lived to the ripe old age of 17.
I would have him checked by another vet, and I wish you and your pet the best.
