Ryan keeps his mouth shut

Search for body difficult rough Bonaire
The police on Bonaire search each day to Marlies van der Kouwe. But more and more people on the island fear that she will never be found.

Two weeks after its violent abduction is the 24-year-old apothekersassistente still a trace. The Bonaireaan suspected of the kidnapping, keeps his mouth, which is dependent on the police work and search tips to find her.

For people who do not know the island is incomprehensible that the Marlies still not been found. But a large part of Bonaire is inhospitable and inaccessible. Without concrete evidence is searching for a needle in a haystack.

Bonaire is in terms of area almost twice as large as Texel, a small island so. There are 15,000 people, only 10 percent of the island is cultivated. The rest is rugged and pristine area.

An aircraft of the Coast Guard searched the first days and nights systematically off the island. These explorations accounted for targeted searches on the ground, but which remained without result.

Not only the landscape, the police for a problem, the secrecy of the local population. The culture creates fear silence, always al

Two years ago called a prosecutor in the courtroom that if the people wanted crime he addresses the people have had to talk.

Last weekend, the parents of Marlies in an open letter to the residents called for tips to come.

It seems that suspects have learned that they can by with kidnapping or even murder as long as they keep their mouths shut.
Same here in the US with Casey Anthony.

I spoke with a colleague of Mr. v Kouwe this morning and the police advised them not to speak to anyone.
Why is that ?
They have the knowledge and experience in this sort cases they say .
There are 150 caves on Bonaire so it is difficult to find a body .

The fam send a message to the media last weekend that they trust the police there
and that they do a good job .

note Johan :
But : they start with the investigation after 1 1/2 day ? Why so late .
The security gard called the police that night !
Were is her bike ?
Are there fingerprints ?
Is Jan vd Straaten advisor in this case ? i hope Not

Ryan

who is this Jair ‘Ilo’ Leuteria ?

Escape from Bon Futuro prison

WILLEM CITY - With a retractable ladder of nearly 10 meters is around two hours last night the 24-year-old detainee Jair 'Ilo' Leuteria escaped from the Bon Futuro prison. By midday he was still in hiding, the police description has been circulated. Leuteria was in 2006 to eighteen years in prison convicted of a double murder that was committed in 2002.

Together with Leuteria tried last night, the detainees Rashandy Frank Shanley and Hay to escape, but they were the custodians in time be caught in the collar. The last escape from prison again dating from 2002. Thereafter were still trying but they could all be thwarted.
The escape was discovered by guards in the control room on one of the surveillance cameras saw movement in the southwestern wall. There was a retractable staircase against the wall and there were so-called flight lines cut. After the discovery hit the same staff and great alarm ripped staff both inside and outside the gates off. But upon arrival of the custodians showed Leuteria, probably with help from one or several people outside, to have already escaped.

Injured
The other two detainees were caught and are now in the strafhok. They will be questioned. All three were in Block 7A. Leuteria in cell 207, the other two in cell 104. Leuteria must escape with his injured. In Block 7A were found seven bars and three metal Louvre to have been sawn through windows. There are blood found on a white T-shirt that is left behind, and on the wall of the prison.

In any case, the escape have been prepared long in advance. Although the camera is not that covers the entire area and all angles. The cameras must always move back and forth. The prison management has long ago submitted a request for more camera surveillance. It will cost about half million guilders and would from the Safety Plan should be paid.

Leuteria was arrested in 2005 in the Netherlands. On October 5, 2002, he shot the then seventeen-year-old Edson 'Edchi' sambo, just before his house on Souax, in the chest. Sambo walked with a friend, Leander 'Fubu Ras de Jongh (20), when they were strongly driven by Leuteria and another occupant. Sambo drew a weapon, but Leuteria was quicker with his sambo and shot down. De Jongh was abducted by two.
Two days later his body was on the plain of San Pedro found. He was found by the head to be shot. De Jongh was drugskoerier, but his last journey was not successful. Kilos of cocaine, he had a few hundred grams printed backwards. After his abduction he was severely beaten, for he Leuteria and the Dominican Chavel 'Diablo' Water Fort in the trunk of a car was taken. Fort water is still on the run.

He is a room mate of the other suspect. They are looking for a black car believed used in the kidnapping. How can you not find a car on such a small island? It's not like you can drive it to another island.

This is one of the latest posts on the Bonaire Scuba Board by Harmoni.

Tomorrow it is three weeks ago. We havn’t had a press-conference for one-and-a-half week. Dutch newspapers have forgotten her, local newspapers are silent. Amercan newspapers or television-programmes did’t cover anything at all, they are too busy with the Presidential elections, also local radio-stations don’t talk about it anymore. Not much (visible) activity on the island anymore. Everybody was talking about her the first days. Now you don’t see anybody anymore talking about her. Marlies is totally forgotten. Bonaire is busy with the Regatta (Sailing event) Every evening there is partying in town, we were there, one evening, and stayed for some 10 minutes, we couldn’t stand it, knowing what had happened here, and nobody bothering anymore…….. I saw a woman alone on a bike, yesterday-evening, near the place Marlies was kidnapped. Didn’t she learn a thing?

Suspect Ryan is this weekend in custody for 2 weeks, and I am wondering if he will come free this weekend. Some boards told he will get or has got another week’s prolongation in jail. (As far as I know this is not possible according to dutch law, but, who cares?) This morning there was a short notice on the radio, they didn’t talk about the prolongation, but they said that they expect coming week some more arrestments. They seem to have more hard proof (forensic?), although they didn’t say what. Suspect Ryan doesn’t say anything anymore, keeps his mouth totally shut. Also the guy that escaped from the jail in Aruba (now you hear he escaped from the jail in Curacao) is not found. He is supposedly hiding on Bonaire.
If Ryan comes out of custody, he will not have an easy life. During all the investigations that took place on the island, lots of other things were found (stolen goods, drugs, weapons, a.s.o.) that had nothing to do with the Marlies-case, but the criminals, responsible for those things, hold Ryan responsible it was discovered. They promised to give him a free facial make-over, (the hard way), and renovate his bone-structure, (read: break all his bones.) (This is the way things are handled among the young criminals, here on the island.) If he comes out, you better stay away from the bars he goes normally, you could easily catch a free-flying fist, knife or bullet…….

It is so sad we don’t hear anything anymore. We want to know what is going on. On the radio they said the investigation-teams are still searching in the Knuku, we didn’t see anything, they spreaded leaflets on the island, I didn’t see any, I think all the detectives are still here, according to the huge bunch of cars spreaded around the police-station. I think if you are doing investigations in the Knuku, your car should not be at the police-station?
I heard that some people from the island wanted to organise a silent walk in town with torches and all people carrying a picture of Marlies with them. But I didn’t hear anything anymore. I think this initiative is going to die too. From own experience (the dog-bites and free-roaming dogs-story half-a-year ago) I think you will not get many participants.

The police-chief promised an investigation upon the slow reaction on the call of the guards from the WEB. (The guards saw what happened and called the police. They didn’t show up, because there was no occupation on the police-station). And the investigation just started 36 hours after the disappearance. Knowing the first 24 hours are the most important, this is a big failure. I am afraid this investigation will also be covered up.

I hope we are going to hear some more real results in the coming week. I hope they find her (dead or alive), I hope they can proof who was responsible for this, and I hope they will do in the future more efforts to keep our island free from these creeps.

Sorry I am so negative, but what happened here is so sad……

to talk. he sounds like a bad guy with a lot of criminal experience. why kill the girl? we should not lose sight of the erroneous kidnap scenario. that would be a motive for getting rid of the victim. i don't think rapists usually kill their victims.

here is a particularly horrible exception: http://www.floppingaces.net/2007/05/13/rape-mutilation-and-murder/

If all 3 are involved and she is still missing then maybe it was more than a rape case. Everything is just speculation with so little information coming out. I still don't understand why they cannot find the car.
I know of a lot of rape cases where the victim was killed.

BONAIRE - The police in Bonaire has fourth suspect arrested in the case of the missing Dutch Marlies van der Kouw (24).

It is the 30-year-old J.R.R.. Another suspect, Vincent P., was held Tuesday at large. Siegmar his friend and his brother Ryan are still in jail.

Showers of rain and wind scoop on the tropical island of Bonaire hamper the search for the missing Marlies van der Kouw (24) seriously.

,, The weather is now a huge game breaker in the search for Marlies, part of the police strength must now be deployed for assistance to the population.''The spokesman stressed that there is still lack of a breakthrough in the investigation into the disappearance of Marlies. ,, The three suspects so far we have arrested have still not known income statements.''

Sources dichtij the investigation believe that the research team, led by Johan Schagen on "the right track" with the arrest of dire islanders. After the arrest of Ryan P. , Five days after the verdwijing of Marlies, last weekend were also the brother of Ryan, Vincent (37) and a friend of him Siegmar (19) arrested on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance of Marlies.

,, The Police, however, is very dependent on the cooperation of the islanders. They should really start talking now, otherwise, the only team with the technical evidence. The body must be found.''

Vierde arrestatie in zaak Marlies

The husband of a California woman who was last seen in January on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten was arrested and is being held in connection with her disappearance, local police said today.

Frank Cordes was arrested Tuesday, St. Maarten Police spokesman Ricardo Henson said. Cordes has not been charged with a crime.

Earlier this month, local prosecutors announced they had discovered new evidence in the disappearance of Cordes' wife, Leta Lynn Cordes, but did not elaborate, according to the Daily Herald, the local newspaper. Chief prosecutor Taco Stein was not immediately available for comment.

Brian Sutton, a homicide investigator with the Orange County, Calif., Sheriff's Department, who has been assisting St. Maarten authorities with the investigation, said prosecutors must bring Cordes in front of a judge within 48 hours, but could request to hold him. The couple are from Orange County.
