My weekly trip down memory lane via YouTube - today the 60's

Wow, does this bring back memories or what? To those too young to relish in the sublime let me just say it really was the best of times.

Guess I should label these the early 60's because by the time we got closer to the 70's things had changed A LOT!

I lived in So. Calif. when this was popular and listening to it today I can almost smell the air as it was back then. Nothing brings back a memory like a song.

This was also the start of the Surfing craze. I moved from Calif. to Minnesota at this time and with my long blonde hair I was, of course, quite a hit as the California Girl. LOL. I remember at a dance one night in the high school cafeteria where I was doing the Surfer Stomp and everyone was gathered around - just like on Ozzie and Harriet or something. RFLMAO! In retrospect we were so very simpy but, boy oh boy, at the time we really thought we were cool.

Look at the pants on these guys! Ha-Ha!!

Sad - the futures that awaited those three Wilson boys - Dennis (drowned), Carl (cancer) and Brian (major head problems)

Oh wow - Rick Nelson. Actually he was part of our lives starting way back in the 50's. We grew up with Rick. Damn, he was just so good looking. And he only got better looking with age. When he died his career was reigniting and looking at a video of this very same song from around that time I can't believe what an absolutely gorgeous man he was. (I added that link at the very end for anyone who wants to see how handsome he was then.)

He's one of those people you think back on from time to time and just can't believe they're gone.
