Was that about a female bartender's murder? If not, there was something similar to what you're saying about a man who was convicted of a bartender's murder, and bite marks and DNA exonerate him but he's still locked up... and they have another suspect that can not be excluded as the "biter" or with DNA.

What does it take? OMG! These kinds of cases infuriate me... and scare me. It could happen to me, and it could happen to my children. Re-election or "promotion" seems to be a factor in so many cases, and it's nauseating to say the least!

Yes, that was the one! It's strange how you can up feeling so good for the one that finally gets vindicated. That is, until you think of the long haul it took to get there! It always amazes me the grace that these people have when being interviewed after being released.

Same here, Isanah--- and Damien is on death row and speaks so gracefully and with faith. I'm afraid I may be a mess and unable to maintain my composure. However, I guess he doesn't want to appear like a "madman". Good post. I have faith these three will be released, and I strongl believe they're not guilty. I hope that man in the case you mentioned is released ASAP. There's no reason to prolong this, as he's been thru enough already, like you said. And when these three finally go free, I want to see their reactions, the WMPD's, the parents of the victims, and their families... oh, and Judge Burnett and Fogleman! It's a long time coming, and it's about time. There are more innocent folks in prison than we think, and that's scary because not only are they being unjustly punished, the real criminals are still out here on the street! What a shame.

Judge in Echols’ case recuses himself

The federal judge who initially sent Damien Echols' appeal back to state courts has recused from the case. In a one-sentence order filed Wednesday, U.S. District Court Judge William R. Wilson Jr. said that "some of the principals in this case are long-time acquitances and friends of mine."

It was not immediately clear who would take over the case or if Wilson's recusal would affect Echols' pending appeal to the Arkansas Supreme Court.

Echols and two others were accused of killing three second graders in a Satanic-like ritual. The boys were last seen riding their bikes May 5, 1993. Their bodies were found in a ditch the next day.
