Report: Jolie gives birth to twins in France
French tabloids say two baby girls born — Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane
The Associated Press
updated 12:56 p.m. ET, Fri., May. 30, 2008
LOS ANGELES - The Brangelina brood has just increased by two, according to “Entertainment Tonight,” which reported Friday that Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins in France.
Access Hollywood quotes French tabloid reports saying Jolie gave birth to two baby girls — Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane. The twins are reportedly named after their grandmothers. Marcheline Bertrand was the name of Angelina’s mother, who passed away in 2007.
The French tabloid reports suggest Angelina may have given birth by Caesaran, watched over by her own doctor from Los Angeles.
Representatives for Jolie and her companion, Brad Pitt, did not immediately respond to phone and e-mail requests from The Associated Press for comment.
The twins are the fifth and sixth children for the couple. Their other children are 6-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Pax, 3-year-old Zahara and 2-year-old Shiloh.
The pair recently moved into the Miraval Estate villa in the French hamlet of Correns, in the Provence region, according to the mayor and the inn’s owner.
“They are people who I hope will live normally here,” Mayor Michael Latz told The Associated Press.
Security guards were blocking the gates to the estate Friday, while a postal truck and other maintenance vehicles regularly passed in and out.
Onno Stijl, owner of the L’Auberge du Parc inn, said it was a good thing they were moving in and could help business. He said he gets his wine from the estate’s vineyards.
“It’s a couple living here now like everyone,” he said by telephone.
The area, he said, “is a bit isolated but that gives it a certain ... privacy.”
According to its Web site, the Miraval estate dates from pre-Roman times. It includes fountains, aqueducts, moats, a lake and vineyards that produce an organic wine distributed worldwide.
Pitt and Jolie may be Miraval’s first movie stars in residence, but Miraval has seen its share of rock stars. The estate includes a studio which has hosted the likes of Sting, the Cranberries and Pink Floyd, who recorded tracks for “The Wall” album there.

Hmmm, I thought she still had a couple of weeks or months, or whatever to go.

Conflicting Reports About Jolie Birth
"ET" reports Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins, "People" says she hasn't
May 30, 2008
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- "Entertainment Tonight" is reporting that Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins in France -- but People magazine says that's not true.
The television show reported the news on its Web site, citing a source close to Jolie that it did not name.
However, a Jolie representive told People that the actress has not given birth.
"Angelina has not given birth. She is fine, enjoying her home and her family in France," the representative told People, according to the magazine's Web site.
The twins would be the fifth and sixth children for the couple known as Brangelina. Their other children are 6-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Pax, 3-year-old Zahara and 2-year-old Shiloh.
The pair recently moved into the Miraval Estate villa in the French hamlet of Correns, in the Provence region, according to the mayor and the inn's owner.

Reports Say Angelina Jolie's Twins Born; Pitt Manager Says 'No Comment'
Friday, May 30, 2008
"Entertainment Tonight" is reporting that actress Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins in France.
The manager for Jolie's partner and the twins' father, actor Brad Pitt, told FOXNews.com there would be "no comment."
But a rep for the actress told People magazine it's not true.
"Angelina has not given birth. She is fine, enjoying her home and her family in France," a rep for the actress told People.
"Entertainment Tonight" reported news of the birth on its Web site, citing a source close to Jolie that it did not name.
The twins are the fifth and sixth children for Jolie and Pitt. Their other children are 6-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Pax, 3-year-old Zahara and 2-year-old Shiloh.
Other reports out of France said Jolie gave birth on Sunday at a Catholic clinic in the Aix-En-Provence region. French gossip sites reported that the babies were named Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane, in honor of the girls' grandmothers.
Jolie appeared heavily pregnant when she took to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France to tout her animated movie "Kung Fu Panda" and Clint Eastwood's "Changeling."
She issued a press release stating Aug. 19 as the babies' due date, but FOXNews.com's Roger Friedman reported last week that Jolie's due date might be sooner as she was already pregnant during the filming of "Changeling." Friedman also reported that Jolie was carrying fraternal twin girls.
Jolie said earlier this month that she was thinking of giving birth in France.
"I actually haven't completely decided, but we are certainly thinking of France," Jolie said. "It's a second language in our house. I'm still learning so I'm not going to attempt it here today, my rusty French. But our children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them for their language."

Have any of you ever noticed how she and Brad are never with ALL of their kids? You will see one of them with a couple of the kids, but I can't remember when I have seen pics of them all together. Yeah, I know they might be and the cameras aren't around, but it just looks like neither of them can handle all of the kids at once. Also, it looks like mohawk Maddox is Angie's favorite.

Brangelina set to open foster home
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want to open a foster home. The Hollywood couple, who are currently expecting twins, are keen to help underprivileged children throughout the world. Angelina, who also has three adopted children, Maddox, six, Pax, four, Zahara, three, as well as two-year-old biological daughter Shiloh with Brad said, "We keep thinking, ‘Is there ever going to be a time when we don’t have kids in the house?’ Maybe we’ll eventually start a foster home or something. We have a clinic that handles children so there are ways of looking after kids without actually physically having them in your home and we’re doing more and more of that. But I think we will adopt again. I’d like to do it again." The couple have shown their desire for a large family by recently purchasing a 35-bedroom French mansion.

The pressure is on them to acknowledge their mistake and apologize!
And, they've been proven as intentional liars!
According to a new Associated Press report, Entertainment Tonight reps were informed by the Brangelina camp that an impostor posing as Jolie's assistant falsely provided the celeb news show with information about the non-existent birth (yet) of the Wondertwins.
And yet E.T. went on to report the officially disputed news on air last Friday.
Furthermore, it contradicts the show's statement that claimed it first learned of an impostor from a letter from Jolie's attorney Monday — three days after the broadcast:
Entertainment Tonight takes this very seriously and is, of course, concerned that the show may have been victimized by someone allegedly posing as a member of Ms. Jolie's team. We are actively investigating the matter and are reaching out to law enforcement agencies.
- Last Friday morning, ET posted a story on its site and sent an e-mail alert to media outlets saying it had confirmed the birth of the Brangelina twins. The Associated Press picked up the report.
- ET did not name its source at the time. It later revealed that the report was based on e-mails from someone it thought was Jolie's assistant, Holly Goline.
- Shortly after the story was posted but several hours before the broadcast aired, Goline told ET that she was not the person who provided the news, according to an insider with direct knowledge of the conversation. That account was reportedly confirmed by another person close to Jolie.
- "ET was told before the broadcast on Friday that their information came from an impostor," said the second person. Both people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly.
- The people said there were several conversations Friday, by e-mail, text message and telephone, between Goline the Jolie assistant and ET.
- On Friday night, ET host Mary Hart said on the air, "Just this morning, a source who says she was inside the delivery room tells us yes, the babies were born and yes, mother and babies are fine." This is all after Jolie's assistant told the news source that an impostor provided the news mag with the info!!
- Later that night, the manager of Jolie's partner, Brad Pitt, told AP that the babies had not been born.
- The show said in a statement Wednesday that it first learned of an impostor from a letter from Jolie's attorney Monday — three days after the broadcast

Denial Denial Denial
They're STILL standing by their story!
Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart was just interviewed about Brangelinagate and her show's repeated assertions that Jolie HAS given birth to the Twins, despite denials from both Brad and Angie's camp.
Says Mary, “We still don’t know if she’s had those babies or not and until we do we won’t retract our story. I don’t know yet that we’ve made a mistake.”
She adds, “I hope that the babies were born when we said they were and that we had our facts straight. I have never retracted a story in 26 years but all I can do now is wait and see.”
Why would Brad Pitt have been visiting another country with Maddox when Ange just gave birth?
Why would he and Angie lie????
And if she did give birth, we think the French media would probably be the first to report it.
Until then, you can stay in denial Hart.

Still Pregnant!
Is Entertainment Tonight going to issue a retraction?
There has been speculation in the world media that Angelina Jolie already had her babies, but just four days ago on June 22, an In Touch Weekly photographer got a rare shot of Angelina still heavily pregnant taking a break from bed rest.....The photos capture the actress hanging out with her children Shiloh and Zahara outside chateau Miraval, the home she Brad Pitt, and the kids are staying at in the south of France....While the official due date is August, officials tell In Touch that she will deliver around July 15.

Angelina Jolie in hospital to give birth: reports
LONDON (Reuters) - Angelina Jolie has been admitted to hospital in Nice, southern France, where she expects to give birth to twins, reports said on Tuesday.
They said that the 33-year-old Oscar winner, whose partner is Brad Pitt, was admitted to the Lenval Hospital on Monday.
"Ms. Jolie came to the hospital last night as part of a pre-planned rest period, before she gives birth," Nadine Bauer, spokeswoman for the hospital, told In Touch Weekly.
"The visit has been planned for a long time, there are no complications. She is just resting," Bauer added.
Neither the hospital nor Jolie's U.S. representatives were immediately available for comment.
Jolie and Pitt went public with their relationship after they co-starred in the 2005 film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
They already have one biological daughter together, Shiloh, who was delivered by Caesarean section two years ago in the southern African nation of Namibia.
The Hollywood couple also are the parents of three adopted children -- daughter Zahara from Ethiopia, son Pax from Vietnam and son Maddox from Cambodia.

Brad And Angelina's Twins Made Honorary Citizens Of Nice
COLLEEN BARRY | July 4, 2008 04:25 PM EST |
NICE, France — They'll always have Nice.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's soon-to-be-born twins will always be considered honorary citizens of Nice, regardless of whether they opt to obtain French citizenship, the mayor of Nice said Friday.
The Hollywood super couple have chosen the relatively low-key Rivieria city for the birth of their twins, expected within weeks. Jolie has been hospitalized since Sunday in the seaside Lenval hospital, which has a magnificent view of the Mediterranean below. Pitt has been making regular visits, often with some of their children in tow.
"That is for the citizens of Nice a very great honor and a great satisfaction," mayor Christian Estrosi said. "We are very happy for this choice of Mrs. Angelina Jolie and Mr. Brad Pitt and I want to say to them that I wish a lot of joy to them and the babies, and great success for all of their lives."
The mayor affectionately called the twins "two little Nicois."
Being born in France is not enough to confer citizenship. But according to the French Foreign Ministry website, the twins will have the option of obtaining French citizenship when they turn 18 as long as France has been their primary residence for at least 5 years after age 11.
They are allowed to keep both French and American nationalities, so they will never have to choose.
"All their lives they will be Nicois and all their life they will be able to come to Nice and we will receive them with great honor," Estrosi said.
He was waiting eagerly to extend his congratulations on behalf of all the city's residents.
Jolie's doctor said Wednesday that the babies would arrive "within the coming weeks."
Pitt and their four children _ Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; Shiloh, 2 _ have taken up residence in the town of Correns, 60 miles from Nice, in advance of the new arrivals.

Hospital: `Impossible' to see inside Jolie's room
Wednesday, July 09, 2008
PARIS — The hospital where Angelina Jolie will give birth says the windows of her room have been coated with a special material that prevents paparazzi from taking pictures of the actress and her partner, Brad Pitt.
The Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France says photos that claim to show Jolie and Pitt in her room are fakes that have been manipulated or show other patients.
The hospital's statement, issued Wednesday, says it's "totally impossible" to see inside Jolie's room because the windows have been covered with an insulating material that camera lenses cannot see through.
Jolie is expecting twins. The 33-year-old actress is resting and being monitored by doctors in the hospital ahead of the birth.

She's Popping on Tuesday?!
The wait is almost over.
According to a new report, Angelina Jolie will give birth to the Wonder Twins by C-section on Tuesday.
A source reports, “She can't wait to give birth because she can't stand the hospital food, and she is fed up to be in this hospital room. If she could be induced earlier she would love it, but the medical team think it's medically better to wait until next Tuesday.”
Exciting!
