I'd say this was more than just a cleaning lady.
Her duties probably included meal preparation,
laundry, dishes and other usual daily household
chores. |
Then she should be referred to as the house keeper..don't understand why everyone keeps referring to her as the cleaning lady
I need a house keeper |
Your initial post refers to her as "Cleaning Lady". The statement says household aid.

With regard to the "document" you posted? I only see one household aid mentioned.

Tell them you are rich and have antique furniture. That might help.

I'd like a maid like my friends in India, Ethiopia and
UAE have. In India the maid costs about $15-20/mo
usd. She comes every day, makes beds, vacuums,
dusts, does dishes laundry and prepares lunch and dinner.
In Ethiopia much the same services are provided for
about 400 birr/mo ($50 usd)
I would feel like I'd died and gone to heaven if I could
avail myself of a maid like that. Only problem is that
service here would cost about $50 or more per day

Sure.
Just wondering why you brought that up. If it was a clue of some sort.

I'll never forget when my friends in India first spoke to
me of a flat which was 2 rooms and a hole. I couldn't
begin to imagine what that was and was quite horrified
when told that it was 2 rooms plus what amounts to a hole
in the floor which was to serve as a toilet And
this supposedly was a better flat than one with no "hole"
This was Pune, India.

Juris Doctor (Latin for Doctor of Law) or J.D. is a degree in law offered by universities in a number of countries, most notably the United States. It is considered a first professional degree as one of the main purposes of the degree is to provide the professional training for those who wish to become lawyers. Some U.S. law schools award the first professional degree in law as Doctor of Law or Doctor of Jurisprudence. These degrees are equivalent to the Juris Doctor as the first professional degree.
In the U.S., the J.D. is the degree required for admission to the bar in nearly all 55 U.S. state and territorial jurisdictions. It replaced the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree that had previously been the standard degree for those seeking to practice law. In the U.S., those individuals wishing to obtain specialized training in a particular area of the law may earn the the LL.M. (Master of Laws) as a post J.D. degree, and those wishing to pursue academic research in law may earn the S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science) which is an academic research degree. However, the LL.M. is not required to practice in any area of the law and the S.J.D. is rarely even pursued by law professors.
While universities in nations with legal systems based on the common law generally still award the LL.B. degree as the first professional law degree, some law schools in Canada, Hong Kong, and Australia have renamed or have changed their LL.B. programs to J.D. programs. The J.D. degree is also being awarded in Japan as of 2004.
Australia's University of Melbourne offers both first-entry and second-entry first degrees in law: the LL.B. is offered as a four year program for secondary school graduates, while the Juris Doctor is offered as a two year (6-trimester) program for "mature graduates with a good degree in a discipline other than law and significant employment experience, and for lawyers who have a civil law degree". Natalee was fluent in Spanish I've heard. |
That's just NH myth. Nobody gets fluent from taking HS Spanish.

Heli, throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, it is the same thing.
A monthly salary for household help is around $100.

n Haiti, my maid cost 30 dollars a month, for 6 days a week. And we paid double bc i couldnt stand paying just 15. the driver we had cost 40 a month.
those were the days. actually proportionately given teh cost of their housing, etc, they did very well. I know Theresa's rent was 10 dollars a year.
lots of expats felt guilty at first getting maids and drivers, but if you didnt you were hurting the people. The poorest nation in the western hemisphere and the employment we could give went a small way to helping individuals.

VC, it's gone up to about $100/month, and it still seems like such a pitiful sum for all the work they do.
