Back to School!!!
Today was the first day of school for 4 of my 5 kids. I am happy to report that no one came home sick, suspended or in labor I only managed to embaress 3 of the 4. I told my 13 and 14 yr old not to take the wrong bus home and reminded my 17 yr old not to forget to call me if she goes into labor Everyone else having a fun back to school time with their kids?

I always loved the first day of school when I was their age. My kids are always ready to go because there are so many kids they don't see over the summer. It is so exciting to them and easy for moms on the first day. They get up, get dressed and are ready to go. After about a week, they start trying to get a few more minutes sleep and all the other things.
I bet your daughter will call when she goes in labor. Heck, you'll probably be the first to know. Then of course, because you are her mother, when the pain gets intense she will blame it all on you. After all, you had her didn't you? Isn't motherhood great?
Our high school started back August 10th, on a Thursday. Why do they choose such weird days to start? Back in the "dark ages" we always started school the day after Labor Day. It was much easier to keep up with. Then again, that was before computers and all the fancy electronics that keep us informed of our schedules.

Just a reminder: WATCH THOSE SCHOOL ZONE SPEED LIMITS! The kids, especially the younger ones, are so excited that they are not looking before crossing. In fact, if you are driving close to a school, expect the unexpected where there are kids. I saw two almost get hit today because the driver wasn't watching, and neither were the kids!
