Arbeej is on the tourist boards saying that the Aruban media is surpressing information on the story. It is probably in response that Nilton say "Oh NO-NO-NO, radio, television, and print." Then Arbeej acknowledges the Diario link.

Brownknee guided me here after replying to my posts on visitaruba.com. My daughter was on the trip with Natalee and was one of the last to see her before she disappeared.
I am FLABBERGASTED that anyone on this board would suggest that the original poster was lying about the story!!! Or suggest that it is an urban legend! We are out of our minds with grief over this monstrous event -- trying to get information, and to warn others -- and some posters would rather believe we're making it up?!
The news was slow in getting to the media here in Birmingham. I think perhaps the family did not want the details shared until we know something for sure.
But I am curious about the lack of media coverage in Aruba. I wonder if they are suppressing it so as not to hurt tourism. I have searched for online info sources and everything to do with Aruba is so sugar-coated... And I believed every word of it until Natalee disappeared.
I did wonder if the Aruba media might have suppressed information in an effort to help Natalee. There is a chance she is still alive as a captive. With a suspect already in custody, I worry that if his cohorts learn exactly what the police suspect, that they might kill her. I do hope that the media's actions are noble and not a commercially motivated effort to preserve the island's image.
I did read of the rescue of the abducted sisters. That happened May 21. It was posted on a military web site, not on a Aruba news source. True, they were not tourists so the original circumstances are not the same. However, this makes three young women abducted in the same month! It is thought Natalee may have been smuggled into to Venezuela by a trafficking ring -- for the same reason that the sisters were abducted.
Now I ask you... With confirmation from several sources that young women are preyed on in Aruba, and that there ARE organized trafficking rings in place, shouldn't tourists be warned?!
Yes, Aruba is safer than many places, and most people who go there have nothing but the best experiences. But it would be a whole lot safer if tourists were told the truth about very real dangers. The problem is that these kids (and we parents) were given a false impression as to the degree of safety that could be enjoyed there. Had they been apprised of situations to look out for, precautions to be taken, this tragedy could have been avoided.
I am utterly amazed that not only is information suppressed (as in the story of Natalee's abduction) but actually REFUTED on these boards.
If you doubt the veracity of this report, check out the news links already provided here.
The continued suggestion that "this couldn't/didn't happen here" only makes it easier for it to happen again.

Ah, the papers have picked up the story! A poster on another list gave me this link:
http://www.diarioaruba.com/diaranzon/noticia/news3.html
It is not in English so I couldn't read it (wish I could!) but it has pictures and a number that can be called if anyone recognizes her.

I just looked at my timeline notes again. This post appears to have been written probably at 10:51 p.m. on the same day that Glenda said that Beth viewed the surveillance camera video of the Holiday Inn (June 2)and Julia reportedly saw a Natalee look alike at the front desk. There are a lot of attacks on Aruba in this post. Also check out the words, "getting along famously" with a Dutch tourist. Compare that to what Beth said to Julia about getting a call from Natalee that she met someone.

Glenda, correct me if I have any of this wrong. But I am looking into this in regard to the MedJet.

I am correcting the date. Beth saw the tape on June 1. So this was written the day after.

Glenda wrote:
Beth and others saw the tape on the 1st of June, it was declared by Beth that it was not Natalee, in the meantime, Joran and co lied about where they left Natalee. So far unless the "piece of a Vehicle" has anything to do with this case, the only evidence they have is that the TRIO lied and then "how did Joran get home?" That is it folks! No more, no less.

THE TAPES were put in a box until well after Joran was released. Julia and others who have seen it, believe that it is Natalee. The ALE is not releasing the tape nor are they commenting on it until the case is closed.

Please forgive this very off-topic post, but I've come to think of so many of you as friends, and I need your emotional support.

Those of you in America have now probably heard the news of a young Alabama woman now missing in Aruba. Natalee was on a senior trip with my daughter and 100 other recent graduates from our high school (and chaperones). In the predawn hours Sunday morning, Natalee was apparently kidnapped. It has been four days with no word of her, and our community is devastated.

My daughter was one of the last to see Natalee before she got in a car with a young man she'd befriended. He and his friends offered her a ride back to the resort from the bar they had all been visiting. Natalee had been getting along famously with the fellow, who told her he was a Dutch tourist. She was never seen after she got in his car.

The police were able to easily identify the guy off surveillance tape because he was actually NOT any tourist but actually a local drug dealer He was questioned but released, sticking to a story that he had dropped Natalee off at the hotel as promised. However, a search of the hotel surveillance tape shows she never entered the hotel grounds.

We have been told unofficially that police believe Natalee was turned over to a human trafficking ring operating out of Venezuela, a group known for kidnapping girls visiting or living on the Caribbean islands and smuggling them elsewhere for forced prostitution. As horrifying as this is, we are holding on to this as a hope because it means she may still be alive somewhere.

Although this apparently happens all the time on some of the islands, it is said to be rare in Aruba and many locals were slow to believe the story. They now have enough confirmation from officials to know it's for real and many are helping with the search.

My daughter was in the same bar at the same time near the same people. My agony is searing as it could so easily have been my child. It could have been my own precious daughter who is lost to us. My grief is almost as great as if it had been. Natalee is a very special girl and such a valued part of so many aspects of our little town.

There are links to this story on the internet.

We will all appreciate your prayers.

The "Natalee is alive and they are taking her to Venezuela" is Hubert Tiel's story. As we can see from this post, this theory existed prior to ever hearing it from Hubert. Rhonda says that the source is the police.

Is it correct that the MedJet arrived the same day as this post on the 2nd Thursday, and left on the 4th, Saturday. edited: According to AP, Beth's press conference was at a hotel on Friday, June 3rd. Then Bacchus' statement on Saturday 4th.

U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Vestavia Hills, said Saturday there were circumstances surrounding Holloway's disappearance that warranted the FBI being heavily involved. He declined to give details.

"The circumstances were disturbing," said Bachus, who formally requested the FBI's involvement. "I can't get into it, but it's something the family is aware of. There was an immediate recognition that this was not simply a teen who wandered off."

Then the MedJet leaves on Saturday and the gang rape theme shows up for the first time on Scared Monkeys.

1. Some AP reports said the three men took her to the beach and “had sex with her” before returning her to her hotel. The words in quotes were later removed from the wire story. They may have drugged her (roofies?) and she may not have recovered consciousness. They then would have panicked. Another report says the Dutch kid is the son of a local attorney who is defending all three. This story is also not around anymore. The press has been week in covewring this.

The Natalee alive theory to go with this would be:

Natalee left on the MedJet alive. Hubert, who was duped by somebody, was actually following a live Natalee. After the MedJet left, Hubert continued to follow a Natalee look alike until around June 16th. Then the Natalee look alike disappeared.

Suppose Joran did say that to Natalee. Then why was Natalee seen leaving C&C with Joran but not touching him? Later Natalee is seen with
Joran and Satish leaving together. If the conversation did happen then you would think Joran and Natalee would be holding hands looking for a car ride to his house and not be escorted by Joran and Satish to Deepak's car. I do not think Joran ever told Natalee about being a local.
I think Joran story about Natalee wainting to his see his house was another lie. The Dutch tv show said that Natalee said they would take me back to the hotel. They never did. This was on tv.

names please

Who saw Natalee leave Carlos 'n Charlie's with whom?

Who saw Natalee get in the car with whom?

Who saw Natalee in the gray car and tried to get her to get out?

Names please. The only public witness, dash, is rather unspecific on the subject of who Natalee was with outside the bar. They sure aint talkin'.

Dutch TV show

Part true part theater. What did natalee say to whom? All I remember is "Wahoo Aruba!" and I am going for a drive with these guys. Did Natalee really need a ride to the hotel? Why? Left behind by friends who set her up with Joran knowing her drunken state? Please, MB. tell us what happened.

Here is a link to the Ductch tv show. Natalee clearly states that they are
going to take me back to the hotel. They never did.

In the program, Natalee is also portrayed as having a blue suitcase.

What is important is what the Dutch offical think Natalee said. Natalee clearly want go back to the hotel and even tell that to Alana Jordan outside C&C. So how come Joran never brings Natalee back to the hotel. To see what Alan Jordan said go to scrux.com.

I don't believe there ever was a blue suitcase.

Aruba may have been diligent to a fault about
using Deepak's car in the Dutch tv re-enactment
but you may remember the boy who played Joran
in the re-enactment was not Dutch but appeared
to have asian appearance.

I wouldn't put much stock in objects seen in the
re-enactment based on the casual casting of the
Joran character.

Natalee may have told her friends J2K's would take her
back to her hotel, but bear in mind she probably gave no
timetable for when they'd bring her back... like after they
were done cruising or whatever ... Wink

Having been a teenage girl, let me submit that if I was
taking off with three guys and intending to have some fun,
I'd pacify and/or re-assure my friends who might have
been questioning my choice.

None of us know what was Natalee's mindset as she took
off with J2K's shouting "woo hoo Aruba"

BINGO Heli!!! I've often thought that myself: I don't believe there ever was a blue suitcase.

Why did so many people just ASSUME that this reenactment was 100% accurate, I wonder? That missing blue suitcase was the subject of countless discussions, wasn't it? Because there was a blue suitcase on that show, people JUMPED on it. MISSING blue suitcase! Shocked

I forget if it's on this thread or another one, but last night or this morning someone was discussing that also on that reenactment Natalee had said "they're taking me back to the hotel" when she was in the car with J/K2.

Now where'd the show get THAT from? Is THAT a true fact?

That was my intended point.

That not everything in the program might have been completely accurate.

The blue suitcase is in the same category as the actor
playing Joran in the re-enactment. No relevance to reality !!

For those who subscribe to the runaway theory, a missing
blue suitcase would be great CE of it. Yet, I don't think
it's those posters who are beating the drum for the missing
blue suitcase.
