I Feel So Guilty....There are so many missing kids!
I am ashamed of myself for keeping such a "good-eye" on this case. I know I am addicted, but why?
What is the addiction?

I don't know, it's weird, isn't it? You and I both know we aren't going to solve this case and I doubt anyone else will, either.

Very good observation
I think that we all could do things locally...or also pick a few worthy families from internet missing person cases and try to help them in some way
I am totally disgusted by the way this case was turned into a political deal and a "boycott" tho...
I think that MORE attention should be given to missing people...I think maybe whole shows or even a cable channel...like one where you could go and see pictures of local missing kids
NOT enough attention is given to the "solvables" too...
solvable missing kid cases often involve a non custodial parent simply NOT returning them after a visitation....and these are the ones we could maybe "spot" the kid....the non custodial parent does not kill them (thank god) usually...they just want to be with them and/or hurt their ex
This case got way too much "attention" on the cable networks
since it happened in Aruba there was NO way any of us can "solve" it

There is a case I have been following since 2004 that I have tried soooo hard to get Greta or someone to pick up, but no one was ever interested. Seems LE has finally managed to raise the funds to search the landfill for this missing 16 year old. Only took them 2 years to come up with the funding.

New Details in Joanna Rogers Case
New Details in Joanna Rogers Case
New information in the breaking news we first brought you on Newschannel 11 at 5. We told you Lubbock County has secured the funds to search for missing Lubbock teen Joanna Rogers. NewsChannel 11's Jennifer Vogel has the new developments.
Lubbock County Sheriff David Gutierrez has just received word from Austin that the Governor's office will fund $100,000 to help in the search for Joanna Roger's body. The Sheriff met with Ken Nicolas, the Director of Criminal Justice in the Governor's office. He authorized money for the search and said he would be willing to allocate additional funds if necessary.
It was two months ago that Rosendo Rodriguez confessed to killing the missing teen. He told investigators he strangled the teen, put her body in a suitcase, which now could be in the city landfill.
Over the past few weeks, Lubbock Sheriff's office teamed up with Team Adam from the Missing and Exploited Children to help with a plan and budget to assist in the landfill search. Numerous other agencies will also help with equipment and expertise when the digging begins.
The search is expected to begin in the next week. Investigators will dig in a 100-by-150 foot area that is 24 feet deep. They say there are three phases in the search, the first will be to bulldoze top garbage layers, then phases two and three will be to go through the garbage by hand to look for any piece of evidence. Sheriff's tell us one way they will look for clues, is to look at old garbage, like old newspapers, to try and find dates so they know if they're close to the time Joanna went missing. The entire process is scheduled to take 2-3 weeks.
Again Joanna has been missing since May of 2004. And the sheriff's office says they hope this search will bring closure to the case.
County Commissioners are supposed to meet Monday to try and find money, but thanks to the Governor's office, they will no longer need to.
My comment:
Lets get real with the facts. This case is another said case. The cops did not find out until about 2 months ago where to look for her. Their was no
last known person when Joanna went missing.

so what? because there was no last known person, its okay to say "welp...nothing we can do. Guess we just wait for someone to confess"
They assumed she had ran. Funny thing though...she took NOTHING. her shoes were still there in her room..her purse, her ATM card...everything. Yet because she was 16, their first assumption was runaway. If they had not picked up the suspect on another murder charge, they would have NEVER caught gim. He killed again, thats what got him busted. They found info on his computer about her.

You are completely missing the point, but I suppose it really doesnt matter since she didnt meet the criteria of "important missing person".
