Yes! I love football. Lots of interesting things going on heading into the season.

Daunte Caulpepper hopes to improve the Miami Dolphins, but not sure their offensive line can give him enough time to throw. A new quarterback for the Oakland Raiders hopes to get the ball to Randy Moss. Can Terell Owens go the season with the Dallas Cowboys without drama -- don't bet on it. The New England Patriots probably won't reach the playoffs as they've lost a lot of talent. Peyton Manning and the Colts are under pressure to finally make it to a Super Bowl. Will Big Ben Rothlisberger be hampered by his off-season motorcycle accident, or will the Steelers reign again? The Cincinnatti Bengals have been up and coming for a while and this could be the year they become a powerful force. And maybe the Seattle Seahawks might be the best team, as it's time for Shaun Alexander to bust out big-time, especially in the playoffs.

Oh you know your stuff, pax!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

Better than me, that's for sure. I've only gotten really into Pro FB the last few years and I am definitely a newbie. But I LOVE it!!!!!!!!

My son and I had the BEST time last year watching the games. I even got the book out of the library, "Football for Dummies" so I could really learn the game. I kid you not! LOL!

I LOVE Peyton Manning! And I just totally worship Tony Dungy. He was our Bucs coach before he went to Ind. It was SO sad about his son, last year, wasn't it?

Those are my two faves......Bucs and Colts!

Look forward to discussing the game with you, pax!

Yes, Tony Dungy is a really fine person. I was heartbroken last year when he lost his son. How did you like that "Football for Dummies" book? I've heard it's really good. The more you learn about football, the more exciting it is to watch.

What's the word on the Bucs this year?

We are EXCITED for Football!!!!!!!!!! Seahawks will rule this year!

Pax, I think T.O. is an asshole and I'm not too fond of Big Ben after last year. Rolling Eyes I continue to believe we were robbed! hehe

Savannah I am fairly new to loving football also. At least I can now ask somewhat intelligent questions but I occasionally still get a Rolling Eyes from hubby and the boys. Oh well, they need me for the Sunday afternoon munchies!

We all have jerseys now and I'm hoping to get a good pic to use on our Christmas card this year. Very Happy

I hope Seattle can make it back to the big game, and win it this time. It was a very tough game. On the one hand the Seahawks got some very bad calls. On the other hand they didn't take advantage of the opportunities they had. Shaun Alexander is all set with the long-term contract now, so he should have another phenomenal season.

Does anyone follow BigTen college football? We have the Ohio State Buckeyes right here. Today was the first day for the players to report. Hope they don't do anything in this heat. Twisted Evil

I hope so too Pax! I think your assessment of that game is pretty accurate. It was tough to watch!

We were so glad when Shaun signed! He does a lot of good work with the youth in our area. A local paper did a great human interest story of how Shaun befriended some kids while signing autographs in Cheney WA (training camp). He has kept track of them, taking them to lunch every year. They have his cell # and he periodically sends them text messages asking if they are staying strong and making good decisions. I think that is so cool. Can you imagine what four kids from Cheney think of that?

I also think Matt Hasselbeck is an excellent leader and an all around good guy.....love his dry sense of humor.

KLeigh, that's awesome hearing about the work Shaun Alexander does with kids. There are many professional athletes who are kind and caring people. Hines Ward of the Steelers and Shaquile O'Neal of the Miami Heat also come to mind as being incredibly caring toward those who are less fortunate.

I haven't noticed Hasselback's dry sense of humor before, but will look out for it now. I love that kind of stuff. Sports isn't just a metaphor for life, sports is part of life!

I've picked a few teams that should be strong this season:

Seattle
Dallas
Pittsburgh
Denver

A few teams that should still be hanging around:

Cincinnatti
New England
Indianapolis

A few teams that are going to suck:

Miami
Oakland
NY Jets
Detroit

A few teams I'm really interested in seeing how they do:

Tennessee
San Diego
Washington
Tampa Bay

If past seasons are any indication, I will be part right and mostly wrong, lol. But, let's discuss!

Hisss, I love that football hat. Since that cat is an Eagles fan, I think that helmet is going to be on its head for a very long time.
