Digital Cameras?
I am getting a new digital camera, and reading the internet reviews is making me dizzy.
Anyone really happy with theirs, or have any advice?
I want to be able to crop/enlarge to 8x10 nicely.
Also would like a good optical zoom.

Canon Digital Rebel. I could recommend others depending on your price range.

I visit Arubagirl's site because she has such awesome pictures of Aruba. I believe she just got a new camera. Maybe you could pm her and ask about it. It sure takes great pictures.

I think it runs about $1000. What other features do you care about and what kinds of things will you be doing with it -- it's a hobby and I know a couple of things about digital cameras.

Thanks for posting that link. I just checked it out and those are stunning photographs. Don't know what kind of camera but I'd guess it's a higher-end rig.

well, shit...I was hoping to spend about half that amount.
It will be used for fun mostly. I like to take pictures of the kids for my mom and enlarge them to frame etc.
I also take a lot of pictures of my animals..domestic and wild. So, both indoor and out.
I guess my main interest is that it enlarges nicely and can zoom in well without distortion. The Kodak I have now seems to change the color of objects. My daughters purple prom gown is blue in all my pictures.
Can I get a decent camera for about $500 or not?
btw...thank you so much for the help.
