As a Dutchman I am obliged to say (ofcourse) Bet Holland.!!
But real advise is hard to give. 16 country made it. The FIFA ranking list top 3 is:
1. Brazil
2. Holland
3. Czech
Germany, Argentina are very good aswell.
You say it is an office pool? Not much money involved, just for fun? If so, just look at the 16 countries and choose with your feeling. But if there is much money involved? Just buy a lottery ticket, changes are the same!!
But if have to promote Holland, because we earn this championship, we really do...so bet on whoever you want, but please support holland!
why do I feel like a really sad person, posting this post???

IMO Holland and Portugal is the most even match of the last 16.
Portugal has a little more depth.

Brazil is awesome with Ricardinho and Ronaldo - but I don't believe we can count Ghana (the surprise team of the World Cup) out.
With the outrageous amount of yellow and red cards the ref's are handing out, it could be anyones victroy.

But what about Australia, the succeroos? Is Guus Hiddink (the Dutch coach of Australia and 4 years ago the coach of South Korea) able to pull of another miracle? We allways talk about dream players like Ronaldo, Maradonna, Beckham, Cruiijff, Van Basten, Gazza etc. But this coach has managed to get two team (Holland and South Korea) in the semi-finals, wouldn't it be something if he got a third team in the semi-finals ???

I like Australia also. Am interested in the Argentina/Mexico match this afternoon.
The German/Sweden game is out of hand now, with the Swede's playing a man down and they were already behind 2-0.

That doesn't mean anything. The Dutch were leading 2-0 once in a match against Portugal. In the second half, Portugal scored (at least) two goals. I do not remember the exact score, but Holland didn't win adn didn't qualify for the Worldcup 2000. So, anything can happen..
ETA: btw kudos to Portugal!

The Netherlands:
What Lies Ahead: A rematch of their Euro 2004 semifinal with Portugal, which the Dutch lost 2-1.
Prediction: The Netherlands boast one of the most energetic sides in the tournament. The Portugal game will be the best match in the round of 16. If the Netherlands can get past Portugal, it'll likely face England -- whom the Netherlands should paste pretty good. A semifinal berth doesn't look at all far-fetched.
It's a good site.

True - but with Sweden being a man down, and the amount of yellow cards they already have, and the aggressive way Germany is playing, I would be really surprised. Sweden just overshot the goal with their PK.
What did you think about the Korea game yesterday? I can not believe that they stopped running when they saw the linesman hold up the offside flag. In beginning soccer you are taught to continue playing until you hear the ref's whistle. The Sui goal was upheld by the ref.

Sorry, didn't see that game. Germany, like Holland, is a country that generally grows in a tournament. But Portugal have proofed to be a stron opponent since the European Championships. I hope Portugal and Holland will show us some good and exciting football and that the game will be decided by one goal. I hope it will not be a game decided by penalty's !!!

I agree. I also hope the ref will keep their yellow and red cards in their pockets until a more serious violation occurs. I feel they are giving out way to many cards and it takes away some of the excitement of the game.
