Don't worry Gabrielle. If you had a close relationship with your 17 year old up until recently, it's probably just a phase. Is your 17 y.o. a male or female?
I don't know if they same holds true for boys. My brothers never went thru the rebellius stage with my mom that I went thru. I have two boys, now 22 and 25 and they never went thru it with me. My niece and my step-daughter did go thru the rebellious stage.
It's probably not gender specific, but it seems to happen more with daughters and mothers than sons and mothers.

Could the theory article posted today in Holland (from Daniel) be for a possible other guy's benefit? Could it be an attempt by ALE to create a false sense of security and direction pending the airing of the recreation TV program?

You need to ask Ruth McVay that questions. Ruth was the one who called Joran her "Lucky Charm" when helped her win back the money she had lost the night of May 30th. That is when Ruth got his cell number.

You know, the more i read back and see all those statements, (when you wipe out the smokecurtain which the mbh crew and the hmi crew did) It`s getting more obvious in my view atleast, there`s another guy here in the picture and it is not Joran! I have nothing with Joran nor the Kalpoes, but if there`s one thing i so hate that it makes me physically ill it is INJUSTICE and this stinks more than injustice to me....

I think that you might be on to something here, Hannie. I think Glenda reported (if you didnt, sorry, glenda) that some of the students were on video tape associating with known drug dealers.
Do you think this avenue has ever been pursued? What kind of drugs did this "known" dealer supply?

Very early in this case, before I started following it so closely, I remember a comment about the drug dealers. I do not know whether I saw this on television or read it in print, or online. But I heard it once, and then never again.
Iirc, a chaperone was being interviewed OR one of the family members was talking ABOUT a chaperone. They described a situation of the chaperone "getting drug dealers away from the students." I believe this was before anyone was arrested. The implication was certainly there that this chaperone might have felt the students were endangered by the druge dealer(s).
That is all I remember, and I haven't seen or heard anything like this again.

I was told this same story (confrontation with dealer) by a parent of a girl on the trip. She told me about it within a week after her daughter got back. I have no reason not to believe it. I don't know if it was the chaperone that stayed behind. The way it was told to me was that it was one of the coaches and it happened on the beach.

Glenda you have some really good points. I laughed about the first safety rule you learn in kindergarden is "do not get into a car with strangers." But remember, Beth didn't have enough time to teach Natalee this, she only had 18 years!
The first calls they should have made should have been to the local hospitals (you're absolutely right Glenda, how did they not know that Natalee didn't get into a car accident with J2K!) and Ruth or somebody should have called Joran's cell phone first thing or at least they should have called him when they got back to AL. If they truly thought Natalaee had hooked up with Joran and had crashed at his place, a friend should have called him and said "Can you wake Natalee up and tell her to hurry because she's going to miss her plane." The fact there weren't any phone calls to Joran or the local hospital tells me they are either guilty of being in Natalee's prescence after being with J2K and therefore, knew she wasn't with Joran or at a local hospital OR who needs enemies with "friends" like these....they didn't give a shit about her!
I know why Beth isn't looking at the students....they've got something on her and she's got something on them. Blackmail or talk and be exposed. The students know Beth is a not so nice alcoholic along with Jug and Beth knows these girls are way in over their heads with alcohol and drugs.
