Are animals cooled by breezes from fans?

A silly question but one I've always pondered.

Are animals cooled by breezes from fans? Not cold air as comes from a/c but say the breeze from a ceiling or box fan?

Since they don't perspire like humans and it's the evaporation of the sweat that makes us feel cool from a fan or whatever - I tend to think it wouldn't work that way for animals.

Anyone out there have the answer?

Good question.

I'm not sure of the answer. But in my house on hot nights, I do use two ceiling fans and open the windows to push out the hot air. My dog Angie seems to like it, as it does cool the house down a bit.

Still, I'm curious about Dithers' question. Anyone?

I don't know the answer to that, Dithers...but we use a few fans during the day in our garage for our FIV+ garage kitty, Reynold. He does seem to intentionally lay in the air path at times. At night, when he's confined, we have an air conditioner we recently installed that he thinks is a monster. Confused

BTW - Reynold is quite a handsome chap.

Reynold is a fat boy! Laughing And he's quite the man about the yard. Very Happy

I've wondered if we are wasting money too. Very Happy And that air conditioner was purchased just for him...and he doesn't seem to like it.

The lengths we go to and they always have such attitudes. Guess that's what makes them all so damn lovable.
