I don't believe sexaul predators can be rehabilitated. They should have their dicks cut off after the first sexual assault, especially of a child. They also should never be allowed to get out of prison. The problem is, most don't go to prison until something like this happens.

Don't think it's twisted at all, in fact I agree with you whole heartedly.

What a heartbreak. Everybody needs to get involved in contacting your state legislators about increasing first convictions on child molestation to the maximum without parole - life is possible.

My heart is broken for this little girl.
My husband and I were watching "nancy grace (i know...i know... it was the only coverage) anyhow, we got into a discussion about nancy nd I told him I think she's a moron. He said "sure, she's an idiot, but she's ok in my book" I asked him why and referenced the woman who committed suicide after being accused on air by nancy. He said "Well, she didn't tell the woman to kill her kids and if she was innocent she probably wouldn't have killed herself, she's ok in my book" Then Nancy made the statement "Well, the Law is an ass....." I looked at him and we laughed. I think she meant the "lawmakers" are asses...my husband stated he had already said she was an idiot.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit -Psalm 34:18-.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for the will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:1-10)

And this is what you would say if it was your beloved daughter who had been raped and killed? Halleluja, praise the Lord.

Suraja - after reading what Fagan had to say about Jessica's Law, I am so filled with rage and anger - I would cheer if a mob broke into the jail and took Jacques. I've never said or felt anything like this before, but enough is enough.

gwen, like you and many on this board, 'sad' doesn't adequately describe the vile feeling of revulsion we feel when we see these stories in the media. I have worked in Child Protection for many years and if there ever comes a time when I'm not affected by the horror of a situation like this, it would be time to move on to another job. This poem has been written by a young girl who has learnt to live with memories of her abuse and like a deep scar it may fade a little but is always there as a constant reminder.
The statistics are very poor regarding the number of cases that actually make it to court and less for a successful conviction. In the UK studies have established that an offender has committed up to 80 offenses before they are discovered, many more are never exposed. I have never ever known an offender to be rehabilitated despite court ordered treatment or prison.
Adults must be the voice for these children, joining an abuse support group, become involved protest and petition any means available to make law makers listen and act to protect all of our children.
Gwen, sorry for the rant it is not aimed at you but at all of us, your thoughts express how we all feel, sad and somewhat helpless.
I Was That Child
I was that child whose innocence was taken
And like all the others was left forsaken.
I was that child on whom people turned their backs
And left me to suffer so many attacks
I was that child who used to be free
I was that child who once played happily.
I was that child who was told not to tell
Of the nights in "that room" or of the living hell.
I was that child who used to lie there and shiver
I was that child, abused and aquiver.
I was that child wracked and laden with guilt
About what went on, under that quilt.
I was that child in straps and chained
I was that child left alone and in pain.
I was that child who was told she was bad
And if she told the truth they would say she was mad.
I was that child who once ran away
But was soon taken back, and was then made to pay!
I was that child, and like lots of others
The years have now past and many are mothers.
I was that child with a secret untold
Until a knock on the door, and the story unfolds.
I was that child filled with guilt and with shame
Who had to tell the Police, again and again.
I was that child, now with 18 years past
Had to relive the nightmares and the freezing cold baths.
I was that child who had to explain, to parent and partner
About what happened then.
I was that child, when tears started to fall
Was told it wasn't my fault
I couldn't help it at all.
I was that child - I wasn't to blame,
And one thing's for sure it won't happen again!
I was that child and when I look and see
I look in the mirror and that child is ME.

How can you mock N2K's post like that?
I don't get along very well with N2K myself, but I respect his faith.
Faith sustains many people in the face of unimaginable horror. Is there something wrong with that, or something worthy of a joke?
I have no doubt that N2K would say the same if it were his daughter this happened to.
Though my own mother died a natural death in hospice last year, I can say that I embraced my faith during that time and it got me through the worst. Faith is not something we possess only when times are good; it uplifts us when times are unbearable as well.
Rant over. That was a HORRIBLE post!

This is absolutely one of the best-expressed summary of an abused child I have ever read. I do hope she, tho scarred, is healing.

Given that you are the same person who felt the need and right to mock those who sought help by joining the Depression Forum, I find your holier-than-thou attitude highly offensive. Suraja asked Need2Know a question. Each of them has the right to their own opinion and beliefs. You do not have the right to judge either of them.

Seraph - thank you for the insightful comments and tragically real poem.
I look at child rape victims as a type of murder victim; their souls are killed but their minds and bodies live on in agony.

I love God, that will never change. My prayers were for those left behind and those of us who are suffering and angry because of yet another senseless act of evil.
Evil is in this world and it is prevelant and becoming more so because of man's continued seperation from God and wanting nothing to do with Him.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Jesus ALLOWED HIMSELF to be humiliated, beaten, scorned, belittled and ultimately murdered on a Roman cross for that very sin and evil that is prevelant among man so that the gap between us and God could be filled by Him. But, He did not remain dead, God raised Him on the third day and death has no more power over those who surrender their will for God's will in their lives. If every human being did that, this sort of thign would never happen. Man is responsible for evil, not God. That love that God through Christ possesses and offered to all of us is beyond human understanding.
This life is only a stepping stone to our true home and our true existence for those who choose to accept the gift God gave to us on that Cross. Children are innocent in the eyes of God.
I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that Brooke is now in the presence of our mighty and awesome Lord. Brooke will never suffer again.

Tough SHIT, tulsa. I have EVERY right to give my OPINION on their posts, both of them. And that is EXACTLY what "judgment" is....giving an OPINION.
You don't like it......I think we still have the iggy button...at least for a while.

I completely understand your rage; I struggle with that same rage and anger myself in situations like this but I have to always remember that as long as we are in this world, evil will also be present because the prince of evil is among us. Man has a history of unimaginable acts of horror. If we came to that place where we realized that Christ defeated evil on that Cross at Calvary and paid the price for all of it, this sort of thing would not exist, but man continues to reject that truth. Evil is coming to an end, there is not much longer before God's final wrath is poured out against all of those who mocked and rejected Him and continued in their unspeakable and unadulterated evil ways. The prince of darkness will reign no more in the very near future. Sin is sin, we must all remember that. Some is much worse than others, but ultimately, it all boils down to that.

Words of Jesus Christ - God in the flesh, from the Book of John, Chapter 3:
Jhn 3:11 I assure you, I am telling you what we know and have seen, and yet you won't believe us.
Jhn 3:12 But if you don't even believe me when I tell you about things that happen here on earth, how can you possibly believe if I tell you what is going on in heaven?
Jhn 3:13 For only I, the Son of Man, have come to earth and will return to heaven again.
Jhn 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so I, the Son of Man, must be lifted up on a pole,
Jhn 3:15 so that everyone who believes in me will have eternal life.
Jhn 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Jhn 3:17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
Jhn 3:18 "There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God.
Jhn 3:19 Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
Jhn 3:20 They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished.
Jhn 3:21 But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants."

The Devotional I posted today in the Devotional thread is appropriate to this topic of conversation:
Unwavering Faith
"And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!"
— 2 Timothy 4:18
One of the things that amazes me about the apostle Paul is how he always seemed to rise to the top of every situation and seized every opportunity to preach the gospel.
We read in the Book Acts that when Paul and Silas were thrown in prison, they began to sing praises to God at midnight. An earthquake struck, the walls fell, and the next thing you know, the very jailer who was responsible for chaining them up and whipping them asked, "What must I do to be saved?"
Then, when Paul was brought before the various dignitaries of Rome, he became master of every situation. For example, when he was before Felix, he reasoned with him regarding righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come. When he stood before Festus and Herod Agrippa II, he said, "Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?" He posed the question to Herod Agrippa II, "Do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe." He was a prisoner on a ship, and in a short time, the crew, the captain, the soldiers, and the Roman centurion were taking orders from Paul---and everyone was listening to him!
Paul was bold. He didn't seem to be afraid of anything. He never seemed to get down. His life wasn't always easy. In fact, it was very difficult. But the words he penned to the believers at Philippi seemed to always hold true: "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content" (Philippians 4:11).
He was fully convinced of the faithfulness of God and was sustained by that conviction.

We ALL need soothing tuls, every last one of us. That is why we must lean upon the Lord in times like these. Brooke is safe now. This monster that took her life will have his day of reckoning. We are ALL spiritual beings and our spirits will live on; either with God or eternally seperated from Him and damned for all eternity with the evil one who started it all at the dawn of civilization. It is our choice to make.

Jesus' Prayer To God The Father Before Going To The Cross For All Of Us:
Jhn 17:1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you.
Jhn 17:2 For you have given him authority over everyone in all the earth. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.
Jhn 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
Jhn 17:4 I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you told me to do.
Jhn 17:5 And now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.
Jhn 17:6 "I have told these men about you. They were in the world, but then you gave them to me. Actually, they were always yours, and you gave them to me; and they have kept your word.
Jhn 17:7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you,
Jhn 17:8 for I have passed on to them the words you gave me; and they accepted them and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.
Jhn 17:9 "My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you.
Jhn 17:10 And all of them, since they are mine, belong to you; and you have given them back to me, so they are my glory!
Jhn 17:11 Now I am departing the world; I am leaving them behind and coming to you. Holy Father, keep them and care for them-all those you have given me-so that they will be united just as we are.
Jhn 17:12 During my time here, I have kept them safe.[fn1] I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold.
Jhn 17:13 "And now I am coming to you. I have told them many things while I was with them so they would be filled with my joy.
Jhn 17:14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not.
Jhn 17:15 I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
Jhn 17:16 They are not part of this world any more than I am.
Jhn 17:17 Make them pure and holy by teaching them your words of truth.
Jhn 17:18 As you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
Jhn 17:19 And I give myself entirely to you so they also might be entirely yours.
Jhn 17:20 "I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me because of their testimony.
Jhn 17:21 My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father-that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me.
Jhn 17:22 "I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are-
Jhn 17:23 I in them and you in me, all being perfected into one. Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me.
Jhn 17:24 Father, I want these whom you've given me to be with me, so they can see my glory. You gave me the glory because you loved me even before the world began!
Jhn 17:25 "O righteous Father, the world doesn't know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me.
Jhn 17:26 And I have revealed you to them and will keep on revealing you. I will do this so that your love for me may be in them and I in them."
