Thank You, Fash! Thank You, Heli! I am very interested in this case so I am happy to see it covered here.
Usually , here in CA the people who make remarks "Like Fry Him" are trying to get out of Jury Duty. The ones that want to be on are very quiet& thougthful.

I tuned in to CourtTV this morning and yes, it will be on.
I haven't tuned into Court TV for awhile since they've been
covering the divorce trial of that McGreavy dude. The last
thing I want to be witness to is this guy's divorce trial or
anybody's divorce trial

LOL!! Me neither Heli. I've been tuning in for the verdict in the Seatle jewish Federation Shooting. Does anybody know if they've got a verdict yet?

I know very little about this case, but he certainly behaved strangely: replacing his father-in-law's gun, the one-way ticket to the UK, etc., but he looks like such a nice young man. |
So did Scott Peterson........

COURTROOM UPDATES - 6/4/08
posted at 1:26 p.m.: Neil Entwistle's lawyer said comments by jurors such as "fry him" prove that a fair trial is impossible.
Elliot Weinstein addressed the media after Judge Diane Kottmyer called for the lunch break.
"There is no possibility - no possibility at all - Neil Entwistle can get a fair trial," Weinstein said.
Weinstein also said the overheard comments of "fry him" and "send him away" from one juror and another juror overhearing others say "that's the guy who killed his family" are proof the jury is biased.
He also said Kottmyer should have allowed his motion to question other potential jurors about those comments.
posted at 12:30 p.m.: A potential juror told Judge Diane Kottmyer that other potential jurors said "fry him," and "send him away" while waiting in line before the start of the Neil Entwistle trial on Monday.
Lawyer Elliot Weinstein immediately moved for the suspension of the jury selection process because there "is an impermissably infected pool of jurors."
Kottmyer denied the motion. |
-- will this be reversible error in the case of an appeal?

I wish the judge had moved this trial (not to Martha's Vineyard like they wanted or was it Nantucket??) because they will be appealing this until the cows come home! I live in western MA - they could have moved it out here - this is like a whole other state when compared to inside Route 495!

I have to say, this defense attorney is boring. I can't figure out where he is heading with his line of questioning.

LOTS of questioning to Cooke about requirements for being a "good shot" etc. How much experience required to get a "tight group" kind of stuff. It's almost as if the defense is saying she was shot several times by someone very familiar with weapons and shooting accuracy.

I thought that wasn't allowed since 9-11 - a one way ticket with no luggage.

He sure looks baby-faced, but I see a bit of a smirk there @ the corners of his mouth.
