Well I started watching the youtube episodes last night, and stopped at 1:00 am.
I am just mesmerised.
Now I am on episode 26.........

This Mark Byers, the stepfather, I have a lot of questions about him.
I understand his grieve, but do not understand his hate and anger.

I was floored when he shot that pumpkin........and was just so full of hate, even before the buys went on trial.

Now I missed how, when why where the boys arrested?

Also I want to order a book, which one is the best, not biased?
TIA.

I may be mistaken, but believe her death was ruled accidental via lots of different drugs in her system. It's covered in detail in Devils' Knot. There are various conflicting accounts of the circumstances surrounding her death, imo.

I'm watching part 32 right now.
I swear there's something seriously wrong with Mark Byers.

Also he wears false teeth.........

I'm saying that because of the bite marks on the faces of the victims.

Can they not compare those with say Damion teeth and the other people convicted?

Hi marco. The possibility that the indentations are bite marks was not introduced by prosecutors or defense at the original trials. Dan Stidham (Jessie's attorney) hired an expert only after he had the money (after the first documentary, after Jessie's trial). On appeal, the State argued the defense didn't meet Arkansas appellate standard for reexamining that evidence. Judge Burnett agreed without comment. I think each of the wm3 were checked and it doesn't match their teeth.

Thanks Pax.
I just finished watched the documentary.

All I can say is: wow.

Even though Mark passed the lie detector test, I have questions.
Of course, as always, the prosecution will never say they where wrong.
The other thing I thought was strange that when ever the camera showed up where ever, Mark was always there.
The other family members of the murdered boys did not do that.
I do not know what that means, it just stood out for me.

I have serious doubt about Mark.
Yes he has mental problems, as we know from the meds he's taking.
You can even tell a difference in the different footage they show, whether he took them or not.

OG has posted about her, here are some links, lots of stuff about Melissa Byers.

When I first read about her death I wanted to know more about her, too.

Marco, I will start a thread and put them there.

I watched Part 1 last night. What an amazing story. Going to watch part 2 tonight.

It looks like they were convicted on, Jesse's supposed confession, the girl's testimony that she saw them in the area and the fact that were involved in Satanism?

Did I miss anything?

Evidence that a fiber found at the scene generally matched some fiber found at a defendant's home. That fiber also generally matched fibers found in Byers' home, and a bunch of other people's homes. That's it, pro.

Immediately upon receiving counsel, Jessie withdrew his confession and refused to testify against Echols and Baldwin even though prosecutors offered to reduce his sentence so significantly that he'd be out now. That girl, and ever significant witness has recanted. Vicki Hutchenson had outstanding charges of embezzling from her employer. Prosecutors dropped those charges even though the employer pursued them and won a civil judgement against her. Hutchenson now claims police threatened to take her kid away.

As you probably know, none of the three were in involved in satanism. Echols flirted with wiccan, but read lots of stuff. Baldwin and Misskeley had nothing to do with that. They did wear heavy metal band t-shirts, lol.

I'm looking forward to seeing part two tonight.

I know that's what you meant pro, just wanted to state it clearly. The whole satanism thing is sad. That was a major reason for the convictions, yet take away the hype and it's nothing.

I'll tell ya.....when I started watching it and saw their little bodies, which I wasn't expecting, I had to turn off the tv and walk away, I didn't know if I could watch the rest.

But after watching the rest of it, I'm just amazed about the entire case. Hard to believe what I saw was enough to send anyone to jail for life or even worse to death row.

Yes, those first clips are gruesome. It was a horrendous crime. The trials (what we see of them) are almost surreal.

Very Happy
I'm here.

I'm listening to the interrogation right now of Terry Hobbs.
This is so interesting.

We're weird..........maybe not.
I'm just interested in crime stories.
Why? I have no clue.

I got hooked after OJ's trial.

Marco, can you please provide a link for that interrogation. I know it's on another thread but don't know where. I'd like to listen to it. Thanks.
