Envelope please ...

The NFL has crossed the midway point, which only means one thing: me and every other sports writer out there get to fill up space with our obligatory midseason awards.

(I'm skipping everything but the MVP - see link.)

MVP: Packers QB Brett Favre. It's between Favre and Cowboys QB Tony Romo, although I'd even give Eli Manning some love in this category. However, in the end, Favre is doing it with a horrific running game. He's not making the same mistakes he has in recent years and the ol' gunslinger isn't looking so old these days.
