What Dompig Really Said....
How surprising to find what Dompig said in the "teaser" would be spun and twisted...
"DOH!"

Re: What Dompig Really Said....
For anyone computer challenged, here is the article:
Deputy Police Chief Dompig on CBS interview:
Explaining Aruba's efforts, not revealing anything new
Santa Cruz - Deputy Police Chief and lead investigator in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case, Mr. Gerold Dompig, stated yesterday to THE NEWS that the CBS 48 hours interview being aired Saturday will not reveal any new details on the case, although the trailers run by network might suggest otherwise.
Our main goal is granting the CBS interview was to explain all efforts made by the Aruban police, to stress that the investigation is in a critical phase and is far from closed, and not to reveal anything new in this case, Dompig commented. We wanted to set the record straight, he added. Last year alone 30% of the 2005 police budget, totaling about US$5 million across the board, was invested in this case.
He stated that all actions taken were in cooperation with the FBI and Dutch law enforcement, as the island has limited resources. "When we lack the expertise, we are always open for assistance from other countries and don't compromise the quality of our investigations," Dompig said.
"After 10 months of investigation, including hearing many witnesses, we have strong indications that Natalee has died," Dompig said. He explained that this could have either happened in a non-violent manner, by her going in shock or that she collapsed because of her body's reaction to effects from alcohol and/or drugs, or violently by murder. "This is a probability and the strongest hypothesis we have right now. This is nothing new to the investigation. We cannot talk about a murder case if we do not have a body," he emphasized.
"We still do not exclude anything completely, but after all these months the possibilities of another scenario are slim," Dompig said.
Dompig explained that after investigating various scenarios - kidnapping, Holloway having run away or that she might be held in a sex slavery circuit - the investigation team was left with the most likely hypothesis, that she is dead. Had Holloway been alive, the high profile character of the case itself and the large reward for her return would have led the investigation to her. Further, there has been no ransom demand and investigation on sex slavery circuits in various countries have given no results.
New searches in the Dunes of the north coast, at the Fishermen's Huts beach close to the Marriott Resort where Van der Sloot said he last left Holloway and in the salt pond across from the Fishermen's Huts are ongoing and will continue in the coming weeks, Dompig confirmed. "Our main priority is to find forensic evidence," he stated. The searches are based on tips and information. The Dutch Forensic Institute and other Dutch law enforcement agencies are cooperating with these searches with, among others state of the art equipment and cadaver dogs.
About Holloway's body being buried and then removed and reburied, Dompig said that this was not a finding, it has been spoken about before and like everything else, it is a possibility, "nothing more."
Dompig confirmed that Deepak Kalpoe, Satish Kalpoe and Joran van Der Sloot remain suspects, but said the investigators were keeping an "open mind." He did not want to comment on the possibility that there might be more people involved.

I think he is really just saying nothing new and startling, but chances are good that for one reason or another, she is dead.
I did notice the words "open mind" which we usually do not see when referring to other "suspects."

But MSM sure is having a good time bashing Aruba, spinning what he said, and concluding..."They've done nothing to find the body."

Thanks very much, Hannah. This article seems to indicate that Dompig thnks that the possibility Natalee died of some kind of OD is just one of several possibilities--it certainly says something different from what the talking heads having been nattering on about.

Not necessarily. Not if some one was trying to protect their reputations.

I'm amazed by that article.
It means that the spin is greater than the story.
He only lays out various possibilities - none more weighter than the other.
The talking heads were really spinning this on everyone.
Shame on cable TV!

If it weren't for all the innuendo, there would be nothing on the news shows. And we all wait for tidbits off the news shows. It makes me laugh when posters everywhere (not just here) bash the news shows as being irresponsible.
As for what has been reported about Dompig's statements, it seems to me he has just about covered all of the possibilities in his TV interviews: drugs, alchohol, J2K involvement, other suspects. In previous interviews, he covered murder. He even got the family's behavior in. A geat summary of al the possibilities. What else is there?

Last night, I watched One Show (Hanna & Cob??) Really hate those guys but they got lucky with me last night. After watching them with B the Twit, I watch no other shows. I am tired of the BULLIES.
It is so clear that all they want is to get people upset. For 10 months, we have listen to them complain Aruba is not saying anything. Now they hear Aruba saying something, BUT they do not like what it being presented. I bet ya- THEY ALL KNOW what that article just told us. But it is a way to drag more people in who never got involved. MORE MONEY!!!!
I am sure Beth has a coach, telling her how to act on TV. For those of you who remember, she would always close her eyes when she talked. Probably the first 3 -6 months, than all of a sudden GONE!!! This was reported on the boards that this is a sign of a lier!!
If you get upset by the spins, how you beat them is Go to Aruba!! Low season starts April 15th.
