Thoughts for VC
Morning,
VC called me at 10:30 last night to tell me that when she went outside she saw one of the cats on the roadside. Needless to say it had been killed by a car. She is quite upset as this has been a really bad few months for her and the cats.
Ghostie was a whit cat that was born last fall and had turned into a cuddlier and was one of the kittens that really helped VC after Mittsy died.

((((VC))))))
It really has been a tough go lately with the kitties. Thinking of you and wishing you the best.
They come and go in waves it seems.
Brace yourself for the next wave in.

VC has a heart for critters that is bigger than the world.
Unfortunately for her peace of mind when anything happens to any one of them she blames herself. That is not an unusual reaction of grief in losing something we love. We believe there surely must have been something more we could have done or that we are otherwise guilty in some measure for falling short.
My wish when I say my prayers at night is that VC will be able to realize and find comfort in the fact that the love and care she has given, and will continue to give, to all these helpless members among God's critters so far outweighs the tragedy and sadness that visits them all from time to time and which she so desparately attributes to what she believes to be her own human failings.
There is a reason God continues to send them all your way, VC, and it isn't because you are a bad mom. You are his helping hands on this Earth.

i wasnt going to post anything bc at this point i seem like some sort of murdering cat monster. i held him and blood was getting all over me so i had a fleeting hope he was alive, til i realized that he had so mich pooled from his mouth that it only looked dripping. and i cou ld not have helped if he was, essentially one side of his face was gone.the other side was perfect.
my heart is breaking but its my fault. i should never let them otu, but i don't know how to stop the semi ferals, the ferals and the ones who just haave strong genes to be outside. I thoght he would be ok for sure bc he cuddled more but he still wanted out. I have an old ac in bedroom no where else and locking the house up makes it stifling in summer
guess i dont deserve to have any cats. Fash will run the board for a few days. bye guys.

VC the cats will find you if they are supposed to find you. Some cats are outside cats some are inside cats. Outside cats sometimes have shorter lives, but I am sorry, they are CATS, they are built to be outside and they are evolved to be outside. They LOVE it outside- they are truly truly in their "element". I think we all now how nice it is when we find our element. I would wish it upon any animal that walks or crawls or waddles, etc. etc. the earth.
It better for some of us human to be vegetarians, others better to be carnivores, but it doesn't make one or the other wrong. Some say a person will live longer if they cut down on red meat, but that is not necessarily so.
Cats get hit by cars. It is just the way it is, and others will find you when the time is right. Sometimes you just have to let go of the blame, because in all reality, you know it isn't your fault, and it isn't the person who hit your kitty's fault. You might not be meant to have cats right now, but when the time is right the perfect kitties will wander in to your life.
I once lost three cats in a one year time frame. It was really sad, but others have found us since then.

VC, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's not your fault. You do the best you can; that's all one can do. Death is part of life. When you're feeling better you might want to read some of the poetry of William Carlos Williams. He was a doctor in Patterson, New Jersey, and wrote a lot about that. Take care of yourself. Know that you do the best you can, and the cats share that love. Life is impermanent, but love lasts forever.
